Welcome and Thank You for coming!!   Where to start??? How about the genesis of the 1% Solution and why that came about, then I'll cove some personal stuff and then my real estate philosophy.

   I’d like to introduce myself, Wilkinson and Associates Real Estate, an Associate and a whole new way of doing business buying and selling homes.  Most know the digital revolution is changing the world- changing what they see, what they buy and how they buy-  what you may not have known is how dramatically it has changed the way people buy and sell homes, and how it is transforming the way real estate is done.  

This transformation in the real estate industry has been swift and dramatic.  4 years ago, 18% of home purchasers used the Internet to locate their home. In 2003, that number was 79%, and the average Internet home purchaser  was two times as likely to be “very satisfied” with their purchase.   From the Realtor’s perspective, this same study found that the average purchaser now looked at ½ as many homes, and spent ½ the time looking for homes.

     Scott Wilkinson noticed these trends and acted, lowering his costs and changing the way real estate is done--like Charles Schwaab many year ago and SouthWest Air today.  Great placement on national search engines like Google and Yahoo lead to many buyers and sellers, and these lower costs translated to lower "fares", (fees to their agents),  and as a result I am able to offer substantial discounts in both Listing and Selling fees to you, get results for you and still make more per transaction than the average Realtor. 

Scott found a new way of doing business- now that we've joined forces,  we are passing the benefits on to you!

     I sold my first million dollars of homes before my 20th birthday. I've since owned an advertising company, and two construction companies as well as consulted in marketing for more than 20 years. I am computer and net literate, and am bringing these skills to the sale and purchase of real estate.  I am recognized for my honesty, integrity and fair dealing.

Personal

Terry McDonald...

is married 25 years and the  father of 4 children.  Two boys are in college, one at NC State  and the other at the US Naval Academy, and two girls are at Providence High School.  Terry grew up in the Washington, DC area and after a few years living just outside New York city, arrived in Charlotte in 1993. A Matthews resident since 1999, Terry has been a builder- licensed contractor, negotiator, and contract supervisor.  A great believer in technology, he has been on the Web in form or another since 1994.

Terry teaches and is a missions coordinator for a  Sunday School class at   Matthews United Methodist in Matthews, NC. He is past President of a local (Matthews) Toastmasters Club, Sunrise Speakers.

He is also Executive Director of a non-profit, Connecting Families, Inc. dedicated to bringing computer technology to low income families. 

 

Karl Gyorfy...

is a Wisconsin native living in the Matthews/Union County area for over 12 years. I have more than 20 years experience in Banking, Finance, and Technology and can bring my years of business experience together for you in the Real Estate market, providing exceptional customer service, personal care, and in depth knowledge of the largest financial transaction most people ever make.

Real Estate Philosphy

Our philosophy in real estate is simple:  We see real estate as a means to an end.  We want to know your "end" and we want to help you get it- whatever it is for you.

This translates into specific objectives:

We are honest advocates for your every interest, known or unknown to you.  We care about what you want and why you want it, and when looking at your needs, we think in terms of  both short and long-term needs.   Though it may be uncomfortable at times, we will always tell you the truth if it furthers your goals of selling your home or purchasing another, and hearing what you need to hear so you will get what you want. 

We invest many hours each week, each month and each year staying informed on what is available on the market so that we will be able to answer the important questions of my clients;  we stay abreast of trends and changes in the law and other conditions that affect the real estate business.  We invest time and money in technology to speed and aid the process.

We look for and get the edge in most all transactions: securing a higher price for property we've listed, seeking the lower price for my purchaser through thoughtful and powerful negotiations, or finding the edge in other terms. We have personally negotiated more than a 500 contracts, and we work all of the terms!                                               

We live a balanced life taking time out for our families and our own good health.  We work many hours, but not all hours, so we’ll work out our schedules together.

 Of  course all the key decisions for you are made by you. We can offer opinions and  reasons for those opinions, but weighing your options and making the final choice is up to you. You are the one who has to live with the decision.

 In Short

We will seek to determine your needs and desires in advance;  if we believe we can satisfy those needs and that we can work together,  and you then become a client, we will work every day for you until those needs and desires are met. Working within the law and the bounds of good business practices,  we will do whatever it takes to make the deal happen for you.
